Description from the seller
[Product Description]
■ Overview: "DRAGONFLY," an important photo book published in 2007 by Koji Onaka, one of Japan's leading photographers. This work is one of Onaka's signature series and serves as a companion volume to his 2006 masterpiece "GRASSHOPPER."
■ About the Works: This collection features 96 color works taken during his travels across Japan, from Hokkaido in the north to Okinawa in the south, between 2002 and 2007. Koji Onaka, a photographer who hails from the legendary independent gallery "CAMP," which also represented Daido Moriyama, has established his own unique color expression. The nostalgic yet indeterminable, floating colors seen in his work are highly acclaimed overseas as "Onaka Blue" and a unique sense of nostalgia.
As the title "DRAGONFLY" suggests, the photographer's wandering perspective, like a dragonfly in paradise, poetically captures not dramatic, decisive moments but everyday Japanese local landscapes. Tosei-sha's beautiful printing techniques also faithfully reproduce the unique color tones.
