Description from the seller
Bang & Olufsen BeoLab 2000 Active Loudspeakers
The BeoLab 2000 was an interesting and unique product designed to make setting up a 'Link Room' for an audio system as simple as possible.
BeoLab 2000 consisted of two active loudspeakers, an amplifier, controls, and an infrared receiver in a compact unit. The idea behind it was that through a single connection to the main system (via Masterlink) all the main functions of this system would be accessible in a second room. Since the speakers were active and had their own amplifier, the volume in the connecting room could be controlled independently — something that was not always possible with earlier, simpler connection systems.
The main system could be controlled via the BeoLab 2000 in two ways. On the one hand, the system remote control (Beolink 1000, Beo 4, etc.) could be used as usual; on the other hand, a small control unit between the speakers. Although this control unit appeared detachable, it was fixed to the system. It had an interesting design and seemed to be formed from a metal tube. A button at one end of the tube controlled the playback/standby function, while a knurled wheel at the other end adjusted the volume. Buttons, similar to those on the Beo 4 control in the center, enabled the selection of the three most common sources (radio, cassette, CD), the cycling through tracks and programs, and the turning on and off of timer playback. These few functions were more than sufficient for most everyday needs.
Sales and shipping are only possible within the EU.
