Vase - Copper - attributable to C. Linossier

Rare two-handled amphora with a support, entirely handmade in hammered copper, with incised geometric decorations. The amphora dates to the early decades of the 20th century and could be attributed to the important French copper-smith master Claudius Linossier. Each circular embossed decoration on the base, which resembles small suns, was handmade by the artist, as is the case for the circular embossed decorations on the three thick copper bands that form the support. The surface of the amphora is entirely hand-hammered and has been enriched with raised rope-like cords. The verdigris patina across the entire object is beautiful.
