Bedspread - 198 cm - 184 cm - White pique bedspread

Splendid cotton brocade double bedspread, loom-woven piquet.
The piquet weaving is a process that creates fabrics with raised patterns, obtained through a special weaving that uses a double weft or raised threads. It is produced by creating a raised structure through a two-weft weave that gives thickness and a tactile, material look to the fabric. The exact dimensions are 198 cm long and 184 cm wide, with an 8 cm fringe made from double cotton added.
Beautiful to use with a solid-color bedspread that reaches the floor and on top of this.
A bedspread unlike the usual ones, as it is all one piece of work.
In the center a rectangular rosette with flowers sewn along the four sides and a decoration that echoes the floral motif on the three sides that cascade down the sides and on the band that covers the cushion.
It is all one large embroidery, which gives the item its particular value. In this part the flowers are denser and smaller.
The flower embroidery is present on all parts, including the corners, while on the straight side of the cushion there is a diamond-lined line.
It has always been used with the utmost care and is part of my family’s bedding ensemble that I am selling due to its abundance.
Although over a century old, it shows no signs or stains, except those of its age.
