Description from the seller

An exquisite and highly collectible figurine from the renowned Cacciapuoti studio in Italy. This piece, titled "Virgo," is part of a celebrated zodiac series and showcases the studio’s mastery of form, glaze, and emotive storytelling.

Artistry & Design
The figurine depicts a graceful, semi-nude female figure in a contemplative, waking pose. She is seated atop a stylized plinth, characterized by the elegant, flowing lines synonymous with the late Art Deco and early Mid-Century Modern movements.

Glaze: Features a sophisticated "granitello" or mottled glaze finish, with soft, hand-painted ochre and earth tones that highlight the anatomical detailing.

Expression: The figure captures a moment of serene vulnerability, with delicate facial features and a naturalistic, expressive posture.

Details: A small, hand-modelled floral accent rests on the plinth, providing a subtle pop of blue and green against the creamy porcelain.

History & Provenance
The base is clearly impressed with the "CACCIAPUOTI" signature alongside the artist's mark. The underside retains its original gold foil studio label, marked with the production number 2096/6, confirming its authenticity and origin from the Milanese workshops.

Specifications & Condition
Dimensions: Height: 17.5 cm | Width: 10.2 cm | Depth: 6.2 cm

Condition: In very good vintage condition. The porcelain maintains a high luster.

Note on authenticity: There is a minor kiln fault at the wrist of the left hand (a common occurrence in mid-century firing processes), which is hardly noticeable and does not detract from the structural integrity or aesthetic beauty of the piece.(See last 2 photos for close up)

Cacciapuoti ceramics are coveted worldwide for their superior quality and artistic merit. This "Virgo" figure is a must-have for serious collectors of Italian pottery or those looking for a sophisticated statement piece of European decor.

Your item will be carefully packaged and shipped with full track and trace for your peace of mind; local pickup is also warmly welcomed in Ekeren (Antwerp), Belgium.
