Description from the seller

Beautiful gilded bishop's staff with a curled end. The staff sits on its original stand.
Dimensions of staff: 178 cm. This is a unique item that is offered for sale only very rarely.

A bishop's staff (also shepherd's staff, pastoral staff, doctors' staff, crook staff, crosier or krootse) is a staff used within Christianity as one of the pontificalia that serve as outward signs of the dignity of bishops and abbots and abbesses. The bishop's staff is a symbolic shepherd's staff, a sign of the episcopal shepherding care of the bishop for the faithful. The staff mainly has a liturgical function.
The staff is used by high-ranking Catholic, Orthodox and Anglican clergy. Within Eastern Christianity the staff is used by all patriarchs, metropolitans and (arch)bishops. Also churches that are united with the Church of Rome and thus under the authority of the Pope of Rome can use the staff. Manufactured by the firm Stadelmaier.
The lot is carefully packaged and shipped registered and insured. Photos complement this description.
