Postmoderne Italiaanse houten schaal, geproduceerd circa 1980, gemerkt Manzoni Pietro.

De schaal is vervaardigd uit gedraaid hout en afgewerkt met een hoogwaardige lak in contrasterende kleuren. Het lichaam heeft een warme naturel houtkleur, gecombineerd met een donker gekleurde rand (zwart/donkerblauw) en een rood gelakte voet. De krachtige kleurcontrasten en de sculpturale, evenwichtige vormgeving zijn typerend voor Italiaans postmodern design uit de late 20e eeuw.
Aan de onderzijde bevindt zich een ingebrande makersmarkering “PMT”, met de aanduidingen Milano / Bergamo, wat wijst op productie in Noord-Italië. Dit soort markering komt voor bij designobjecten uit kleinschalige ateliers of gespecialiseerde producenten uit deze periode.
De schaal was oorspronkelijk bedoeld als decoratieve fruitschaal of centrepiece, maar wordt vandaag de dag vooral gewaardeerd als verzamelobject binnen het Italiaans design en postmodernisme.
