Remarkable cosmetic state, New glass faceplate replaced in 2020 (400$)
In perfect working order.
Considered one of the best semiconductor McIntosh preamplifiers, but above all the best phono stage of all McIntosh vintage units from this period.
Remarkable musicality and dynamics, the C30 deserves to drive amplification or bi-amping to match its exceptional qualities (Threshold, AudioResearch, Phase Linear, Krell, Cary, Carver…)
New illuminated glass faceplate, iconic of the brand in fantastic condition, no bubbles.
5-stage equalizer.
Original wooden case with its slides.
Solid brass isolation pins.
Manufactured from 1985 to 1987, the golden age of Hi-Fi.
The numbering of the C30 is confusing because this unit is newer than the C31V, C32 and C33 models.
Its design and features are very similar to the C34V, without the amplifier control.
In fact, its simplicity is a strength: with simpler, more direct circuits, the C30 is more transparent and quieter than the C34V.
