Description from the seller

Superb traditional Omani Khanjar, emblematic piece of the heritage of the Sultanate of Oman. This ceremonial dagger is a remarkable testament to mid-20th-century craftsmanship (circa 1950-1970). This model stands out for its quality of execution and its significant weight, far from modern tourist copies.
Détails techniques et matériaux :
Handle: Sculpted from a dense dark-colored bovine horn, adorned with decorative rivets and finely chased metal rings. The grip is solid and ergonomic.
Blade: Curved blade in forged steel with a very pronounced central ridge (medial), characteristic of authentic pieces. It features a natural patina from use.
Scabbard (Gaine): Traditional 'L' shape. The front face is entirely covered with filigree work and complex granulation in silver metal (or low-grade silver).
Attachment system: Rare presence of 7 mounting rings linked by a complex braid of metal wires, indicating a high social status for its original owner.
Back: Lined with traditional red velvet fabric, well preserved.
Dimensions and Weight:
Total length: approx. 29 cm
Blade length: approx. 17 cm
Total weight: 480 grams (heavy and high-quality piece)
Condition:
Very good overall condition for its age. Original patina present on the metal and steel. Some normal signs of wear that confirm its authenticity. No major losses in the filigree work.
