Description
Authentic solid wood chest bench, of Alpine tradition, dating from the turn of the 20th century.
This sturdy piece of furniture features a three-panel molded back, with a relief-sculpted coat of arms at its center. The lower front is decorated with stylized floral motifs typical of Savoyard and Tyrolean chalet furniture.
The solid, cut-out armrests and the straightforward sculpture attest to regional artisanal craftsmanship. The seat lifts up and provides interior storage space.
The dark, warm patina reinforces its authentic mountain character.
