Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
Art Nouveau three‑piece Turn-Teplitz earthenware set from Austria (ca. 1900–1910), comprising an oval jardinière with two handles and a pair of tall vases with double ears, featuring a multi‑coloured green, brown and ochre glaze with subtle gradations and dripped glaze, with vase foot chips and glaze crackling under the jardinière but overall in good antique condition.
Description from the seller
Elegant Art Nouveau three-piece set consisting of an oval jardinière with two handles and a matching pair of tall vases with double ears (handles).
The pieces are richly executed with multi-coloured glaze in green, brown and ochre tones, with subtle colour gradients and a drippy glaze effect.
The vases display a naturalistic daisy/flower decor against a greenish background, characteristic of the floral aesthetics of the Jugendstil period.
The jardinière features a decorative band with geometric relief and a strongly flowing glaze pattern in green and amber.
On the underside of the jardinière a faint relief stamp is visible (not fully legible in the photo) and bearing a model number 352.
The style and execution strongly point toward Bohemian ceramics from Turn-Teplitz (Amphora circles), circa 1895–1910.
Symbolism:
The depicted flowers refer within Art Nouveau to nature venerations, transience and organic beauty, core values of this artistic movement.
Condition:
Reasonable to good antique condition, with visible flaws:
Both vases have chipping at the foot rims (see marked photos).
The jardinière shows glaze cracks at the underside (no full-through crack visible).
Normal age-related patina and light craquelé appropriate for the age.
No visible major restorations on the top side or the floral decor.
The damages are mainly at the underside/foot rims and only minimally affect the decorative character.
Dimensions per vase:
