Description from the seller
The surface is dominated by a majestic fishbone (herringbone) macro-scale pattern, where the nobility of silk manifests in a brightness almost mirror-like. The diagonal bands are not mere decorations, but seem carved into the fabric, creating an effect of perpetual motion that catches the eye.
The reference to the devoré style is here masterfully expressed through the alternation of textures: satin and dense bands, which gleam with an intense silvery-gray, blend with areas of looser, more airy weave. This treatment gives the fabric its semi-opaque soul, capable of creating a sophisticated see-through effect; light passes through the fibers irregularly, drawing delicate shadows and geometric projections on the surroundings.
The hand is ethereal and wispy, typical of fabrics that manage to be structured without ever feeling heavy. It is a cloth that does not merely cover, but decorates through the contrast between the almost architectural precision of the design and the impalpable lightness of its transparency. At sunset, the diagonal ribs hold back the last glimmers, transforming the curtain or drapery into a waterfall of iridescent silk.
