Description from the seller

Important pair of patinated candelabra depicting two youthful allegorical figures seated on a naturalistic base decorated with vine tendrils and grape clusters.

The sculptures depict two putti harvesting grapes in a dynamic and complementary pose: one raises a bunch of grapes, the other makes a mirrored gesture, creating a refined compositional balance.

The figures are modeled with remarkable plastic quality, highlighted by the care given to anatomical details, expressive faces, and the folds of the garments. The central shaft develops with a vegetal motif and culminates in a candle cup in the shape of a stylized flower.

Particularly elaborate the pierced base, richly decorated with leaves and grape clusters, an element that confers great visual lightness and artistic prestige to the whole.

The warm brown patina appears coherent with the period and enhances the modeled surfaces.

Attributable to European production of Neo-Rococo taste, second half of the 19th century.

CONDITIONS

Good overall condition.
Normal signs of aging and use.
Stable structure.
Homogeneous patina.
