Lubitel 166b twin-lens reflex camera from the 1980s, produced by Lomo in Leningrad, in good physical condition and tested and working, complete with original blue Soviet box, brown leatherette case and strap.
Description from the seller
Iconic Soviet twin-lens reflex (TLR) camera, produced by Lomo of Leningrad in the 1980s. The Lubitel (which in Russian means 'amateur') is famous for being the entry point to medium format for generations of photographers, offering 6x6 cm negatives on 120 film in a lightweight and simple body.
The 166b model is an enhanced evolution of the classic Lubitel 2, equipped with a more robust thermoplastic body and some mechanical simplifications that make it very reliable. It mounts a T-22 75mm f/4.5 taking lens (three-lens design, Cooke triplet type), capable of delivering images with surprisingly sharp central detail and characteristic vignetting at the edges that gives it that unmistakable Lomo look. The aiming lens is brighter (f/2.8) to facilitate focusing on the central frosted glass.
The auction specimen is in exceptional condition, complete with its original accessories: the blue box with Soviet graphics (a real design piece!), the brown faux-leather case, and the strap. The central shutter offers speeds from 1/15 to 1/250, plus the B setting, and the aperture closes down to f/22.
