Antique French wall clock PIAGET – St Raphaël, a mechanical hand‑wound timepiece in a wooden case with brass details, 37 cm diameter, 13 cm deep, weighing about 2.5 kg, in good used condition and in working order, with pendulum and winding key included.
Description from the seller
Antique French wall clock “PIAGET – St Raphaël” – manual winding – about 37 cm – with pendulum & key
For sale is an exceptionally decorative antique wall clock with an enamel dial and Roman numerals. The dial is signed with “PIAGET” as well as “STRAPHAËL,” which suggests a French watchmaker or retailer.
The clock impresses with its classic, timeless design:
White dial with black Roman numerals
Elegant, finely crafted hands
Brass movement with pendulum regulation
Black outer frame with a gold-colored inner bezel.
The clock bears the signature “PIAGET – ST. RAPHAËL.” However, there is no definitive proof that this is a clock from the well-known luxury manufacturer Piaget. It is possible that it is the signature of a regional watchmaker, dealer, or a distribution designation.
Comparable large wall clocks of this kind were often used in public spaces such as inns, stations, workshops, or business premises in the late 19th to early 20th century. Due to their clear legibility and robust construction, they were particularly common there.
St. Raphaël may refer to a coastal town near Saint Tropez.
This information is provided without a binding proof of origin and is only for stylistic classification.
The mechanical movement is operated by hand winding.
The clock is delivered including winding key and pendulum weight.
The clock can still be wound smoothly and, for its age, runs very well!
Of course it cannot be compared at all with a modern radio-controlled clock, but it has one certainty: style!
Dimensions:
Diameter: approx. 37 cm
Depth: approx. 13 cm
Weight: approx. 2,500 g
Condition:
Good age-appropriate condition with normal signs of wear. The movement is complete. The clock is functional (no long-term guarantee). Please note the photos, which are part of the description.
A charming collectible clock with authentic charisma – ideal for lovers of French timepieces or as a stylish decorative piece with a history.
