Two-piece bath set in pure linen from Italy, dating to circa 1960–1970, comprising a large towel 110 × 65 cm and a medium/small towel 65 × 39 cm, in natural ivory-toned linen.
Description from the seller
Elegant bathroom set in pure linen belonging to a traditional Italian matrimonial trousseau from the mid-20th century.
Large towel 110 x 65 cm, small 65 x 39 cm
Consisting of two coordinated elements (a large towel, a medium/bidet towel and a guest towel), made in high-quality natural linen with refined artisanal workmanship. The decorative band features a raised geometric motif with side slits and an open edge, a typical expression of Italian domestic embroidery from the 1940s–1960s.
The fabric is authentic linen, recognizable by its slightly irregular weave and its compact yet elegant texture, with the classic natural ivory tone that is not optically bleached.
Era: circa 1945–1965
Origin: Italy
Technique: linen weaving with embroidery and hand fraying.
Condition: very good, well preserved, storage creases.
This is a refined example of Italian bed linen textiles, today increasingly sought after for classic furnishings, country homes, or vintage-inspired settings.
Original period item, likely datable to the 1950s–1970s, presumably of European (Italy) production.
In good overall condition, with normal and light signs of wear consistent with age.
Ideal for collectors of vintage linens, for interior decoration, for period mise en place, or for those seeking authentic decorative textiles from the twentieth century.
