Description from the seller
Lego set 6971 Inter-Galactic Command Base from the Space series, from Denmark, 1980s–1990s, used, with original manual and Moon landscape baseplate, as pictured and largely complete.
Original LEGO Space set 6971 – Inter-Galactic Command Base, one of the most iconic and sought-after sets from the classic LEGO Space series from the early 1980s.
This set is offered as shown in the photos and is assembled according to the original manual, which means that the set is complete as far as can be ascertained. It is a very complete presentation with the original Moon landscape baseplate, the full command center with multiple levels, satellite dishes, control panels, platforms and vehicles. The original manual is present, which adds extra appeal for collectors.
The photos are of the actual offered product and provide an honest and realistic view of the condition and contents, which, considering the age of about 40 years, can certainly be described as very good.
The condition is strikingly good for a set of this age. The bricks are neat, colors are well preserved without significant discoloration, and the transparent parts are clear. Light signs of use appropriate to vintage LEGO are present, but there is no distracting damage. A very nice display piece.
Set 6971 is regarded as one of the top sets within the classic Space theme and is considerably rarer than many smaller Space models. In particular, copies that can still be fully built with baseplate and manual are now very rarely on the market. Availability has declined significantly in recent years, while demand among international collectors continues to grow.
For both serious LEGO collectors and long-term investors, this is an excellent investment object. Large Space sets from this period have proven to be among the most value-stable LEGO categories, with clear historical, nostalgic, and museum value.
A unique chance to acquire a centerpiece from LEGO Space’s golden era. Very suitable for a high-end collection, display case presentation, or as a solid investment in classic LEGO.
