Arman by Bernard Lamarche-Vadel, a 1987 first edition French-language art monograph of 397 pages with a bradel illustrated binding, in good condition.
Description from the seller
Beautiful monograph from the prestigious Mains et Merveilles collection directed by Joaquim Vidal, devoted to the artist 'accumulateur' Arman.
A work presented by Bernard Lamarche, known as Lamarche-Vadel, a novelist, photographer, and art critic. It features more than three hundred full-page reproductions, usually in color, of the artist.
The artist Armand Fernandez (known as Arman), a native of Nice, died in New York in 2005. A painter, printmaker, but above all creator of original sculptures made from heterogeneous objects called 'accumulations', he founded, with Yves Klein and César, the group known as the 'New Realists'. His palette was not as rich as that of the monochromist Klein; however his raw material was very close to that of César, the junk dealer.
Bradel binding, publisher's illustrated binding with boards on both covers and the spine. Some hinge play; handle with care. Interior pristine.
