Set of four mid-century modern chairs, manufactured in Italy in the 1950s, with metal frame and black synthetic leather upholstery, dimensions 79 cm high by 49 cm wide by 42 cm deep.
Description from the seller
Fascinating set of 4 original chairs from the mid-century (Mid-Century Modern), produced in Italy during the 1950s. These chairs represent the post-war aesthetic, characterized by the use of innovative materials for the era such as tubular metal and vinyl (Skai), aimed at creating light and dynamic shapes.
Design Details:
Structure: Made of painted metal (typically black or anthracite), with tapered legs ending in original foot caps. The line is minimalist and extremely elegant, able to fit into environments that are vintage as well as contemporary.
Upholstery: Seat and backrest are covered in original Skai (faux leather) from the period. The contrast between the dark structure and the upholstery makes these chairs a furniture piece with great character.
Form: The backrest features an ergonomic curvature designed for comfort, typical of dining or café chairs of the 1950s.
Conditions:
The set is in good vintage condition.
The metal frame is solid and stable, with the normal patina of time that guarantees authenticity.
The Skai upholstery is well preserved (please note if there are small cuts or signs of wear on the edges, otherwise emphasize integrity).
A set that preserves intact the charm of the “poor but elegant” design of the Italian reconstruction period.
Dimensions:
Height: 79 cm
Width: 49 cm
Depth: 42 cm
