Description from the seller
Important desk for office or study of Italian craftsmanship, dating from the mid-1950s.
This piece embodies the elegance of Mid-Century Modern design, combining fine woods and innovative technical materials in a solid, harmonious construction.
Main Features:
Materials: Sturdy core in premium mahogany, characterized by deep, warm grain. The top and the drawer fronts are veneered with original Formica from the period, chosen for its durability and for the textural contrast with the wood.
Configuration: The desk is equipped with six roomy side drawers, arranged in two symmetrical blocks, offering perfect organization for work.
Brass details: The handles and the foot tips (spikes) are made of solid brass, a detail that provides a touch of light and refinement typical of high-end Italian productions (style reminiscent of Vittorio Dassi or Osvaldo Borsani).
Aesthetics: The tapered legs and the floating structure of the top give visual lightness despite the generous dimensions.
Condition:
The item presents good vintage condition.
The mahogany structure is solid and free of structural defects.
The Formica covering shows a patina consistent with use and age.
The original brass has been kept with its natural patina, but can be mirror-polished if desired.
