A Dutch Zaandam Zaanse klok from 1970–1980 with a mechanical SBS Feintechnik 661 movement in a wooden and copper case, 8-day power reserve, 62 × 37 × 15 cm, about 6 kg, atlas figure on the front, and a half‑hour gong strike on three rods, in good used condition.
Description from the seller
This Zaanse chair clock is a relatively uncommon variant because, instead of striking a bell, it strikes a gong every half hour. The familiar bell under the Atlas figure is absent and replaced by a trio of gong rods in the cabinet.
The clock consists of a back panel with a chair and, on it, in a wooden case, the movement. On the case the Atlas figure surrounded by three railings. On all railings is the text: "Nu elck sijn sin". On the sides there is no glass but a plastic grille with fabric. At the bottom of the case another ornament. And a decorative edge around the glass where the pendulum’s lens can be seen.
On the front of the case there is a numeric ring with in the corners the well-known cherub heads. On the numeric ring the text "made in holland". On either side of the dial stand pillars.
The movement is made by SBS Feintechnik, type 661. The movement has undergone a minor service and functions well. The clock sounds every half hour. The pendulum hangs in the case. Copper chains hold drop-shaped weights. They have some pits and stains.
The clock, despite its age, is in good condition with hardly any signs of use.
This lot can be picked up in Almere. Shipping will be carefully packed and sent with a registered post."
