Jan Snoeck 1927 - 2018 The Hague.
An oval cheese platter in good condition, stamped on the underside, measuring 22 cm wide by 15 cm and 5 cm.
Two pepper-and-salt sets marked; the heads are 10 cm tall. The other set was made for a jubileum of Justice.
Both in good condition.
Jan Snoeck studied at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague, where he graduated in 1949. In 1953 he spent a year in Ossip Zadkine's studio in Paris.
Initially, Jan Snoeck worked with stone, wood and bronze. Later he mainly worked in ceramics. He uses bright, primary colors, and people are usually his subject.
Among other things, he made beds for the MCH Westeinde in The Hague. Much of Snoeck's monumental work is found both in the Netherlands and abroad.
Snoeck's work is in the collections of the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, the Gemeentemuseum Den Haag, the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam, the Frans Hals Museum in Haarlem, and the Princessehof Museum in Leeuwarden.
