Hunting trophy

This object is an antique hunting trophy or decorative metal vase, probably dating from the 18th or early 19th century.
It features rich repousé decorations depicting heads of wild animals such as deer and boars, typical of the "Selvatico" style or German/Austrian sporting trophies.
The lid is surmounted by a sculptural figure that seems to portray a historical figure or a hunter.
There is an engraved plaque on the body, which suggests use as a prize for a shooting competition or a hunting event dated 1906.
The dark patina indicates its age. Very beautiful and striking, it measures 40 cm in height including the lid, 34 cm in width including the handles, and 30 cm in depth. It has four very solid feet underneath; it can also be used as a soup tureen or as a bottle holder. I cannot say whether it is silver or merely silver-plated; it is original and has never been polished to avoid damaging the patina, which makes it a unique object with all its details.
