Description from the seller
NEVE 8816+8804+CABLES
16-channel analog summing mixer designed to bring the legendary classic Neve Series 80 sound into the 19″ rack format. Thanks to artisanal handcraftsmanship in construction and the two Marinair transformers on the stereo bus output, the 8816 is ideal for delivering peak audio quality in a DAW-based recording studio.
8816 SUMMING MIXER:
16 channels with additional Aux/Cue inputs
Level, Pan, Solo, and Mute switches
Settings can be saved to PC or Mac via USB
Typical Neve gain circuitry
Several insert switching options
Fixed insert point in the mix
Mid/Side special signal: Insert Send/Return
Solo-In-Place function
Exclusive stereo width adjustment (Stereo Width)
Separate controls for Monitor and Cue
Connections: main and auxiliary speaker outputs, talkback microphone, and headphone output
Optional digital output card (sold separately, art. 113677)
Dimensions: 2U rack with specially shielded power supply, outputs with balanced transformer
FADER PACK 8804:
Designed to be rack-mounted or used on a surface like a console, the Neve 8804 consists of a 16-fader system with associated mute switches and two additional fader outputs.
The Fader Pack not only adds control faders to the Neve 8816, but actually brings a surprising number of other new features. With this setup the knobs on the 8816 for channel level are no longer needed, making them dedicated auxiliary sends. This feature is incredibly useful for mixing if the producer wishes, for example, to use an outboard reverb unit to add a personal touch to the mix’s tones.
Each of the sixteen inputs on the 8816 can now have a direct output thanks to the Neve 8804 adjustable pre- or post-fader. The direct output can be used to send the signal to an external effects unit, to obtain separate recordings of a channel within a mix, or for multi-track recording of all signals from the Neve 8816.
As part of the Neve 88 outboard series, the 8804 is equipped with a convenient preset recall function: a USB port lets you connect the unit to Mac or PC, and through the dedicated software you can store and recall the 8804, 8816, and any other unit in the 88 family presets as needed. This is an essential tool to help the flexibility of the creative process: analog outboard can be used in synergy with digital workstation systems, and user settings can always be easily recalled when needed.
