National Museum of Modern Art, Paris, 1949. 1 paperback volume, color-illustrated cover (lithographed by Mourlot from a paper cut titled “boxeur nègre”), 38 pages. The work is illustrated with 13 black-and-white reproductions of Henri Matisse’s works, and a blue plate. With a list of the works exhibited, including the books illustrated by the artist. Preface by Jean Cassou. Printed on June 13, 1949. Henri Matisse, 1869 - 1954. Published in 1949 on the occasion of the exhibition “Henri Matisse. Oeuvres récentes” presented at the National Museum of Modern Art in Paris. Limited edition of 2000 copies.
A very fine engraving signed on the plate by the artist, which he created for a collection of perfumes published in 1945 and issued by Raucour for his friends. Sold without the frame.
