Description from the seller
Gomorrah Girl – Cross Editions (Valerio Spada, 2011)
Original Cross Editions edition of the photobook by Valerio Spada, published in Paris in 2011 in a limited run (about 500 copies, first printing). The work intertwines two narratives: on one hand Spada’s photographs documenting adolescence in areas marked by the violence of the Camorra; on the other, the visual and documentary reconstruction of the murder of Annalisa Durante.
The structure of the book is experimental and conceptual: a 'book within the book', with pages of different formats and materials that bring images, text and documents into dialogue. It is one of the most acclaimed achievements of Italian contemporary photobooks and is cited in studies and anthologies devoted to author photography.
Minor defect consisting of a micro-tear in the cover sheet caused by the low grammage/fragility of the backing. (see photo)
