Description from the seller
Beautiful rare 'hammered' silver 1910 - 1940 "Amsterdam School" Art Deco brooch with a blood coral cut in a half-sphere. N.B. this design is rarely seen! Subtly but tested for silver!
N.B. The Amsterdam School jewelry period runs roughly from 1910 to 1940, with a peak in the 1920s, an expression of Dutch expressionism in applied arts, characterized by dynamism, artisanal richness, (a)symmetric shapes and expressive details in materials such as, among others, silver, patinated red copper, blood coral and gemstones.
