Description from the seller
Italian coffee grinder from the 1950s–1960s, by O.M.R.E. Costruzioni Elettromeccaniche, under the Quick Mill brand, a Milan-based company specializing in coffee machines and home grinders.
Quick Mill, founded in Milan in 1945 by Armando Rabozzi, is known for its espresso machines made of die-cast aluminum and for its coffee grinders with a compact and functional design.
The models date from the late 1950s to the early 1960s, with small stylistic differences between them.
Apart from the green, which has body-colored caps, all of them appear to be from the same period with a few small differences due to mass production that has continued over the years. The glass panes are intact, without chips or cracks. The plastics and the bodies themselves are also intact and show no signs of discoloration from exposure. Some cables are original, others have been replaced over time. They all need to be tested, but the conditions are truly excellent for domestic-use items that are more than sixty years old.
Some techniques:
- plastic/bakelite body with horizontal grooves
- shaped glass hopper
- numbered graduated ring (typical grind setting of the era)
- Glass side-mounted dispenser with a thick lid matched to the base color
- Flat burrs in steel
- Micrometric adjustment of the grind via a numbered dial
- Electric motor integrated into the body
All four little grinders are to be tested, but they are nonetheless easily restorable.
They will be packed with the utmost care to prevent any damage by the carriers.
