Delft - Pot - With brass cover - Earthenware - Posset pot

A late 17th century Delftware ceramic pot with brass lid, measuring circa 18cm from handle to handle and weighing 538g, decorated in deep blue to depict foliage above a geometric dotted base rim. This type of vessel is sometimes referred to as a butter pot in the Netherlands but may have been used for spiced wine, tobacco or other consumables. Estimated age: Circa 1680.

Condition: Original ceramic cover missing, normal age-related wear associated with Delftware. Overall in a very presentable condition. Please see pictures for a better impression.
