Description
Splendid and unusual umbrella stand (or cane holder), made of high-quality cast brass, dating from the late 19th or early 20th century. The piece stands out for its eclectic design and striking visual impact, typical of the Art Nouveau/Belle Époque period.
Superior Design:
The upper crown is formed by an elaborate interweaving of snakes, with finely engraved scales, whose heads meet to form the rings that hold the staffs or umbrellas.
Shaft and Grip: The central shaft is decorated with organic motifs reminiscent of the natural world, culminating in an upper grip in the shape of a stylized heart with relief decorations.
Base (drip tray): The tray-style base features an elegant embossed decoration with clusters of grapes and grape leaves, a classic symbolism that adds elegance and stability to the structure.
The item features a splendid golden sheen and is in excellent condition. Perfect as a decorative piece for grand entryways or for collectors of fine metalware.
