AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Dear Sirs and Madams, welcome to this fantastic auction:

These are vintage grape scissors in 800 silver, a refined example of Italian artistic silverware, probably made by the renowned silversmiths Fratelli Coppini.

Object Details
Material: Made in 800 silver (an alloy composed of 80% pure silver), a common standard for fine European silverware.
Design and Motifs: The handle is richly decorated with relief mythological motifs. On one side is depicted the Greek god Pan playing the flute, while on the other a putto (or cherub) is shown picking grapes. The upper part near the blades features an embossed motif with grape clusters and vine leaves.

Use: This type of scissors was an indispensable accessory at formal Victorian-era tables and early 1900s, used to elegantly trim small grape clusters from a larger stem.
