Memories of Myself by Danny Lyon is a first edition hardcover (208 pages, 2009) in very good condition, signed by the author, in English, published by Phaidon Press Limited with a focus on documentary photography.
Description from the seller
A selection of photographic essays that span more than four decades of the distinguished career of Danny Lyon (b. 1942), one of the most innovative and influential American photographers. Lyon advanced the so-called "New Journalism" in photography by breaking with Life's style and delving into the lives of his subjects, paving the way for later generations. The pieces gathered here — many of them considered too controversial at the time — range from sensual, vividly colored images of Colombian brothels and black-and-white portraits of youths in Chicago in 1965, to emblematic projects such as The Bikeriders and recent work in Cuba. Each essay appears published for the first time in its entirety and is accompanied by texts by Lyon himself. It also includes an uncommon interview with curator Hugh Edwards.
