Description from the seller

This is a piece of high textile craftsmanship, a classic example of luxury linen set typical of European tradition (very common in fine Italian or French productions from the first half of the 20th century). It concerns a pure linen in ecru color or natural cream. The weave is dense and regular, a sign of high-quality yarn that offers a fresh touch and great durability over time.

Lace Work: The most precious feature is the wide edge in Cantù Lace (or bobbin lace of the Venice type). It is noticeable a very complex workmanship with:

Venetian Stitch and Net Stitch: The different densities of the lace create a game of transparency and relief.

Floral Motifs and Scrolls: The lace design is rich in baroque motifs and stylized florals, extending inward from the tablecloth with sculpted points.

Embroidery and Finishes:

Satin Stitch and Grass Stitch: The body of the tablecloth features delicate hand-embroidered floral motifs that recall the lace patterns.

Openwork Stitch (Hemstitch): The connection between the lace and the linen fabric is finished with a meticulous openwork stitch, which serves as a decorative frame.

Carving: There are small carved inserts with buttonhole finishes inside the floral embroidery.

The Napkins

The coordinated napkins reproduce the same style as the tablecloth:

They feature a corner lace insert identical to that of the main edge.

The edges are finished with an extremely thin hand-stitched hem, preserving the elegance of the entire set.
