Hand-knotted Oriental rug in the classic Bidjar design.

The central, hexagonal medallion field is rendered in a warm terracotta red, densely worked with floral ornaments as well as stylized blossom motifs. In the center sits a light medallion with a finely structured bloom star, giving the rug a clear central axis. The corner tips echo the dark blue of the upper and lower field areas, creating a harmonious contrast to the reddish main field.

The broad main border is cream-colored and features curved tendrils, blossoms and palmettes in beige, blue and rose tones. Narrow side borders frame the overall image precisely and enhance the classical, balanced effect. The combination of terracotta, dark blue and cream gives the rug a warm yet elegant appearance.
