Two prints, antique chromolithographic plates, 1885 pages of an entomological volume titled 'The Butterflies' by Ferdinando Sordelli, published in Milan by Ulrico Hoepli.
Title 'The Butterflies - The principal Lepidoptera of Italy: natural history, classification and entomological iconography,' the work includes chromolithographic plates.
The volume is known for containing the 50 chromo-lithographic plates that depict in detail various species of butterflies.
Author Ferdinando Sordelli, at the time assistant director of the Civic Museum of Milan.
Publisher published in Milan by Ulrico Hoepli, renowned for his technical and scientific manuals, published in 1885, appreciated both for the scientific value of the classification and for the artistic quality of its illustrated plates.
