This fascinating sculpture from the early 20th century depicts a harvest-picking cherub finely carved in wood with a rich gold leaf finish. The figure is shown in a dynamic pose while holding a grapevine branch loaded with clusters of grapes and leaves, resting on a contemporaneous rectangular base. Thanks to its solid build and the shape of the upper part, the work is extremely versatile and can serve as an elegant stand for vases or as a decorative base for table-top surfaces.
