115 + 2 pages - 22.5 x 16.5 cm
Seventeen full-page, black-and-white drawings by Willi Geiger.
Slight signs of use and partial loss of the gilding on the title.

Croissant-Rust (1860–1943) arrived in Monaco in 1884,
where he worked as a teacher of languages and music.
He came into contact with Michael Georg Conrad's circle,
in which the “Gesellschaft für modernes Leben” was welcomed as
the only female presence. In 1887 she wrote her first novella,
"The Child", published in the monthly magazine of Conrad Die Gesellschaft.
With Feierabend. Munich Worker-Novella (1890), a raw one.
a portrayal of the environment that became known to a wide audience of readers.
Having married in 1888, she moved with her husband to Ludwigshafen in 1895.
and only in 1904 did he return to Munich, where his house became
a well-known literary meeting point.
In 1906 and in 1908 he published his two novels Die Nann and Winkelquartett.
The Der Tod cycle, which appeared in 1914 and was illustrated by Willy Geiger,
a macabre literary dance that shows the stylistic evolution of this writer
from Jugendstil to pre-expressionist approaches.
