Description from the seller
Refined tableware in fine German Krautheim porcelain, a historic manufactory from Selb, Bavaria, known for the quality of its productions and for the sober elegance that characterized Central European porcelain in the twentieth century.
The piece is characterized by a clean and balanced line, enriched by a delicate stylized geometric ornament developed along the brim, executed in neutral, restrained tones, interspersed with small schematic floral motifs. All of it is harmoniously framed by a thin gold border, applied with precision, which adds brightness without appearing excessive, preserving an elegant and timeless aesthetic.
The classic, well-balanced form makes these dishes highly versatile, suitable for both a formal table setting and high-level daily use, and particularly appreciated in a collecting context.
Composition
- 36 flat plates, 25 cm diameter
- 12 deep plates 23ø
- 23 small plates, 19 cm in diameter.
- 2 round serving plates, 33 cm in diameter
- 1 sauce boat with spoon 23x14
- 1 oval serving plate 39.5x28 cm
- 2 small oval serving plates 22.5 x 13.5 cm
- 2 soup tureens 26.5x22.5; 24x20.5
Brand
On the back is the original mark Krautheim – Selb Bavaria – Germany, which allows an approximate dating to between the first half and the mid-20th century, a period of great prestige for the manufactory.
Condition
The service is in good condition, with slight and normal signs of wear consistent with its age, visible mainly on the back and along the foot rim. The porcelain is sound, the decoration clearly legible, and the gilded border overall well preserved, as shown in the attached images.
