Description from the seller
Aphex 188A
Aphex presents the new 188, an eight-channel microphone preamplifier remotely controllable via Ethernet or MIDI, through the same devices that can control the 1788A model, namely from the 1788A‑RC controller or from the software (PC or Mac) 1788A‑SW or, using the optional interface model 5200, from an Avid control surface or a Yamaha digital mixer. Aphex 188 features eight preamplifiers, each with transformer-isolated input, polarity selector and selectable 80 Hz high-pass filter. The preamps provide 26 dB of fixed gain and 39 dB variable, for a total of 65 dB, and each input also has a ‑26 dB attenuator. The analog channel outputs are available on a D‑sub 25 connector, while the digital ADAT outputs are available on two TOSlink connectors, these configurable as redundant or SMUX to allow use with sampling frequencies up to 96 kHz. The clock inside the 188 can operate at 44.1, 48, 88.2 or 96 kHz and a word clock output is available. It also accepts external clock inputs operating from 44.1 to 96 kHz.
