Italian Art Nouveau serving table dating from 1900–1910, crafted with tuia, cherry wood, mahogany, walnut and bosso, with gilded bronze details, ebony-veneered legs, a matching lower shelf, and an original mirror in good condition, measuring 70 cm high, 54 cm wide and 39 cm deep, with minor signs of age and spots.
Description from the seller
Refined Italian service table or dressing table, made between 1900 and 1910, an elegant example of Art Nouveau craftsmanship inspired by the Napoleon III style.
The piece of furniture stands out for the lightness of the sinuous lines of the legs in ebonized wood, slender and delicate, which lend propulsion and harmony to the structure. The top and the lower shelf are enriched by a rich marquetry decoration that combines various precious woods: thuja, cherry, mahogany, walnut, and boxwood. The central floral motif is surrounded by elaborate geometric and arabesque frames, which enhance the natural color contrasts of the woods used. Particular care has been given to the gilded bronze applications that frame the profiles and enrich the front drawer with a finely worked handle. An original mirror is present inside, in good condition.
To be noted: restoration concerning the repair of the legs.
A quality piece capable of combining functionality with decorative appeal, ideal as an elegant accent in both classic and modern interiors.
