Description from the seller
Exceptional copy signed by Paolo Roversi (born 1947) on the front free endpaper, unavailable in a signed edition. 142 pages and 85 photographs in black and white and in color, some double-page, with commentary by Francesco Piccolo including quotes from Paolo Roversi.
Of Italian origin, Paolo Roversi settled in Paris in 1973. Since then, he has worked for prestigious magazines (Italian and French Vogue, Egoïste, Luncheon…) and his career has been marked by his collaboration with the greatest fashion designers.
From his apprenticeship years, the choice of the studio, the large-format camera and the Polaroid define his working method and the photographer’s aesthetic, who successfully adapts to digital. His signature is instantly recognizable: soft tones and sepia in black and white under daylight, the density and depth of colors under the light of a torch. Over the years, Paolo Roversi seeks, invents his own photographic language, welcoming chance and accidents as opportunities to reinvent himself.
The world's top models have stepped in front of his lens. They always pose with simplicity; their presence is intense. Each of his fashion photographs is a portrait. Paolo Roversi stands both at the heart of the system and at a distance, far from the ephemeral currents of fashion. In search of beauty, he builds a distinctive body of work that time cannot diminish.
Book from my personal collection, in excellent condition (as new), kept with the utmost care. Very secure packing and international tracking guaranteed. In case of multiple purchases, there is the possibility of combined shipping with reimbursement of any excess postage paid via PayPal.
