Walnut secretaire with a flip-top lid – Italy, late 19th / early 20th century
Description
Elegant Italian secretaire with flip-top lid dating from the late 19th to early 20th century, made of walnut veneer wood with a solid wood frame.
The piece features a sober and balanced line, reminiscent of the Neoclassical / late Empire style, with a slightly bombé front and walnut grain arranged symmetrically.
The upper section consists of a flip-top lid that can be opened and used as a writing surface, while the lower section comprises several spacious drawers.
Original interiors, locks present, one with a key and decorative tassel.
Original patina preserved, signs of wear consistent with age that attest to its authenticity.
Conditions
Good overall condition.
Normal signs of time present (small abrasions, veneer wear in some points, interiors rough as typical of the period).
Structurally stable. Not recently restored.
Shipping on a pallet available ONLY to street level (no delivery to upper floors).
Or local pickup by appointment.
