Description from the seller

Rare Set of 12 Oyster/Seafood Forks - Handle in Genuine Natural Horn - 1920s–1950s
Item description
Specifications:
Type: Specialized forks for oysters, seafood, or fish canapés.
Handle Material: 100% natural horn (authenticity verified with positive thermal test: odor of keratin typical of organic fibers).
Design: The three short tines and the specific curvature are designed to easily extract mollusks from the shell without altering their delicate flavor.
Technical Details: Metal rims, worked with raised decorations; absence of visible punches, typical of some European artisanal productions of the XXth century.
Quantity: Complete set of 12 pieces.
Condition and Aesthetic Notes:
The set presents overall in good vintage condition. The horn handles show a splendid range of color variations and are structurally intact.
Signs of time: As visible in the photographs, the metal parts of some pieces show natural signs of oxidation and wear to the surface finish due to age and contact with foods.
Patina: The items have not been professionally polished in order to preserve their original historical patina.
Why choose this lot:
The use of natural horn is particularly sought after for oyster service, as unlike silver or other common metals, it does not transfer any metallic aftertaste to the palate, preserving the pure sea flavor. A collectible piece for a refined table or for lovers of antique art de la table.
