The silvered chapter ring is signed John Thomas – London (decorative trade name). The clock dates from approximately 1970 and was assembled in the Netherlands using a high-quality German 8-day mechanical movement (calibre UW 20/8), striking on bell on the hour and half-hour. The case is made of solid oak with warm patina and retains its original brass ornaments, handle and feet. The side panels are fitted with decorative pierced wood and fabric inserts.
