Vallé d'Aoste by Peretti Griva, first French edition (1954), hardcover beige binding, 156 pages, published by Région Autonome de la Vallée d'Aoste, featuring pictorialist photographs of monuments and landscapes of the Vallée d'Aoste.
Description from the seller
This book gathers very beautiful pictorialist photographs of the monuments and landscapes of the Aosta Valley, an autonomous region of Italy, whose language is French. 166 pages with 62 plates of photographs printed in heliography on the recto only, the photographs being protected by protective tissue sheets called serpents, introductory text in French. Beige cloth binding.
Domenico Riccardo Peretti Griva (1882 – 1962) was between 1920 and 1950 one of the leading photographers of the Italian pictorialist movement. He frequently exhibited his works in Italy and abroad, and his photographic collection is today preserved at the National Cinema Museum in Turin.
Book from my personal collection in good overall condition for a book published about three quarters of a century ago; the bindings are sometimes a little slack and the spine is loose (see photos) but the book has been kept with the greatest care and the entire set of photographic sheets is intact. Shipped protected with reinforced packaging and internationally tracked postal service guaranteed. In case of multiple purchases, there is the possibility of grouped shipping with reimbursement of any excess postage paid via Paypal.
