Yamaha CA-2010 Amplifier
Vintage Flagship – High-End Class A/B
An icon from the golden age of hi-fi, the Yamaha CA-2010. This is not just an amplifier; it is the top model from the legendary CA series and is known for its unrivaled build quality and the famous Yamaha "Natural Sound" philosophy.
This rare model is a factory-modified CA-1010 produced in small quantities. For the potentiometers of the tone control and the volume / balance knob, the best possible ALPS controls were used and the output stage has been upgraded in several areas, which brings the unique “Natural Sound” signature even more to life. Yamaha knows how music should sound like no other audio manufacturer. The Natural Sound line reveals every nuance of the music as it was intended, and the CA-2010 is one of the most sought-after and beloved amplifiers in this line.
What makes this amplifier unique:
• Switchable between Class A and Class B: With a switch on the front panel you choose between the power of Class B (120W per channel) or the ultimate refinement and warmth of pure Class A (30W per channel).
• Superior Phono stage: For the vinyl lover this is a dream. The CA-2010 features a very high-quality phono section with support for both MM (Moving Magnet) and MC (Moving Coil) cartridges.
• Iconic Design: The beautiful wooden housing in combination with the large, warmly lit VU meters makes this a jewel in any interior.
• Indestructible Build: A heavy chassis, massive transformer and high-quality components that today would be prohibitively expensive to produce.
Technical Specifications:
• Power: 2 x 120 Watts (8 Ohm, Class B) / 2 x 30 Watts (8 Ohm, Class A).
• Frequency response: 5 Hz to 100 kHz (ultra-wide spectrum).
• Weight: A whopping 21 kg of Japanese top technology.
• Features: Dual tape monitor, tone control with adjustable tilt frequencies, and extensive filter options.
Condition of this exemplar:
• Visual: Near Mint, in very neat condition, the wooden cabinet is undamaged and looks very good. Note!!! The grille on top has a crack (see photos)
• Technical: Fully original / Recently serviced (crack-free pots, illumination works and has been replaced by LED).
