Thermometer - Brass - Desktop Thermometer

Antique thermometer on a stand.
Probably from France, around 1930
Standing model with an obelisk design, featuring a pedestal and railing.
Behind the railing stand two gnomes with pointy hats on their heads.
In their hands they each hold a heavy hammer and strike up and down vigorously.
A particularly whimsical and rare scene!
The whole is made of solid brass and copper. All parts are screwed, and the whole stands on 4 twisted brass feet.
The mercury thermometer is mounted on the vertically positioned rod with a pinnacle at the top.
The working thermometer has a scale marked in Fahrenheit and Réaumur.
Beautiful, original and very rare condition. A collector’s item!
