Gustave Serrurier-Bovy pendulum clock, Nieuwe Kunst, 1902
This beautiful Arts & Crafts Gustave Serrurier-Bovy pendulum/table clock made of brass and wood is the epitome of refined elegance. With clean lines and a sleek design, this clock is a fantastic desk object that easily fits into any interior.
Serrurier-Bovy, a Belgian architect and furniture designer, was born in Liège. In 1884 he visited London, where he became interested in the Arts and Crafts movement. He returned to Belgium and brought several concepts of the new movement into practice in his creations, which he sold in his shop in Liège.
Several pieces of his furniture can be seen in the art nouveau section of the Musée d'Orsay in Paris, together with those of his fellow Belgian art nouveau architects.
This clock is made of high-quality brass and wood and is not only beautiful but also highly durable. It features a unique pendulum design that adds an interesting element to its already charming appearance.
