Hanging lamp - Glass, Metal

Vintage lantern, characterized by a handmade blown opaline glass bulb enclosed in a decorative black wrought iron cage. The use of opaline glass, a milky glass rendered translucent with the addition of oxides or phosphates, is a traditional technique, particularly noted for objects from the 1950s; it combines glass craftsmanship with the sturdiness of worked metal. White milky opaline glass (also known as milk glass) and wrought iron. The glass features an internal swirling pattern that adds depth and character, while the shaped iron cage has ornamental scrollwork elements.
Height 35 cm, with chain 80 cm, diameter 22 cm. Weight 2 kg. Working and in excellent condition.
