Large tray "Recinto" in beige-lacquered steel produced by Alessi, designed by Alessandro Mendini.
Excellent overall condition, a barely noticeable light stain in the center.
Born in Milan in 1931, Alessandro Mendini was one of the leading innovators of Italian design in the eighties. An architect, artist, designer, design manager, and theorist of international renown, he directed important design-culture magazines, spreading his calls for renewal. The long collaboration with Alessi was culturally multifaceted: official biographer, designer of iconic objects such as the Anna G. corkscrew, architect of the Alessi Museum, of extensions to the Omegna headquarters and of temporary exhibitions, initiator and coordinator of design initiatives that helped transform the company into one of the Fabbriche del Design italiano.
